not in control

Gardening makes me think of my Nana True~ I would help her in her garden when I was little and I found myself thinking of her during my 1st planting season.

Here are some pics of the growing garden~ now that the chickens are out in the pen the dogs are sort of running all over the new plants ;( so we will see what actually comes up this year~it is awesome to watch the growth~planting seeds and watering just proves to be amazing to me how this grows so easily. Makes me feel closer to God somehow.

Yes the chickens are out in the coop...outside. This makes me nervous but we were thinking if we waited any longer we may not catch them to get them into the coop~ they are super fast. The dogs circle the cage soooo interested and they so want to have chicken dinner~ we are trying to teach them that these are our pets too but..... not in my control.

Even the camera is not in my control Logan loves getting crazy shots of all of us and his toys.

It is May I have lots to celebrate~ Our 5 year wedding anniversary, Zach's graduation, our lovely home, health, happiness and so much more. This is also the same month 2 years ago I lost my baby sister. It still brings pain, though it is not as hard and not as painful... it still hurts~

When my children were small I couldn't wait for them to crawl, walk, learn words, read or dress themselves. The whole time I was thinking parenting was going to get easier along with their new Independence. In fact it is the opposite ~the letting go of my control over them is hard. I keep realizing that I need to KNOW that God is in control and I am NOT!!

I did have CONTROL over all my boys yesterday as I went and had our family portraits done~ We had an amazing photographer and I can't wait to see how they turned out.

I am so excited today my favorite chicken was at the feed store~ I knew they would be in today but didn't get to get there until 12~ so.... I am glad they weren't are sold. Logan is enjoying holding and dropping (just a couple) these cute lil chicks. They will stay inside with us until they are a little bigger to be out in the WILD. I have just a few concerns our cat loves to eat birds, so they must be big enough to peck her and I just can't stand snakes and coyotes they will be coming around more often with laying hens. I am so excited though and love hearing the chirping of these chicks in the house.

Zach 2011

I am so very proud of my son. He went out and got a haircut for Prom, bought the flowers and tux on the way. You are smart, funny, helpful and kind. We are going to miss you when you go off to college!

He will be attending ECU (full ride) he is hoping to get into the Honors dorm. I can't believe this is happening ~my baby is becoming a wonderful young man.

Al Flynn's Carolina Peach Tree~ it is bigger than the rest ~feels more sturdy~ can't wait to pick fruit with MY grandchildren~We will miss our Poppa Al

Brie's Weeping Cherry Snow Fountain~

So GRATEFUL for the special sister moment we shared planting this tree~ listening to "Flown" (the song written in honor of my sister Brie), digging, crying, remembering, missing her so much~everyday. Just me and you. We also buried the patch of Brie's hair that I cut off her the last time I saw her. Now it feels more like a spot I can think of her, mourn her or just talk to her like she was there.

Cousins in stair step order :) the 2 on either end are thrilled to be doing this ;)

I love this photo~ it is one we will remember and our kids will look at when they grow up~This was the best time I have ever shared with my sister~ thanks so much for coming~ We miss you already~
